Pometa runs on your Mac, and so do the apps you build with it. What they read and keep stays on your Mac. This page says exactly what leaves it, and why.
Who we are
Pometa is made by Manuel Toledo, in Spain (“we”). For anything about your data, write to pometaapp@gmail.com.
What stays on your Mac
Your apps, their files and everything they keep live in a folder on your Mac. When you give an app access to something (your mail, calendar, microphone, screen, what you type), it reads it on your Mac. We don't receive any of it.
An app only sends something out when it's built to: when it uses AI (what it asks goes to the AI provider, below), or when it connects to a service you sign in to (for example GitHub or Google), which then gets what the app sends it.
When you build or use AI
- With your Claude subscription: Pometa uses Claude on your Mac with your own account. What you ask goes from your Mac to Anthropic, under Anthropic's privacy policy. It doesn't pass through our servers, and we never read or keep your Claude sign-in.
- With Pometa credits: what you ask passes through our server on its way to Anthropic, so we can charge it to your credits. We pass it through without keeping it: we record only how much each request used (tokens, model, cost) and which of your apps it came from.
- Ready-made apps are built without AI and send nothing.
Your Pometa account
If you buy credits, Pometa makes an account for you without asking for your name or email. It is kept in your Mac's Keychain. For it we store your balance, what you bought and spent (amounts and dates), and, with a plan, its status and renewal date.
Payments
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, who sells to you on our behalf and keeps your payment details. We receive which product you bought, its status and the amount, never your card.
Usage data
To know what works and what breaks, Pometa sends us usage data. You can turn it off any time in Pometa › Account › Share usage data. It includes:
- Events such as an app made, changed or failing, a build started or finished, with the version of Pometa and macOS.
- An identifier for your Mac (a one-way code made from it, not its serial number) and for this installation.
- Once a day, a picture of your setup: which permissions Pometa has, and for each app, how it opens, what it uses (for example Mail or Calendar, from a known list), how often you use it, and a description in general terms of what it does (for example “shows what you pay each month, from your Mail receipts”), with any emails, links and file paths taken out.
- When something fails, a short description of the error with quotes, names, numbers and paths removed.
It never includes your apps' names, their files or data, what you type, or your mail, messages or recordings.
Feedback
When you send us feedback, we get what you write, your email if you add it, the version of Pometa and the app it's about (its name and description).
Other things Pometa connects to
- Our server, for updates, the catalog of ready-made apps, settings and messages.
- npm and nodejs.org, to download the Claude tools Pometa needs, if your Mac doesn't have them.
- Google's icon service, to show a website's icon (it receives the website's address).
Where it's kept and for how long
Our server runs on Supabase. We keep account and payment records as long as your account exists and as the law requires for payments, and usage data for as long as it's useful to improve Pometa. We don't sell your data or use it for ads.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to pometaapp@gmail.com. Deleting an account also deletes its remaining credits. Depending on where you live, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in Pometa before it applies.
